New small Volvo EV for reveal in June

Volvo will be revealing a new electric car in June, smaller than anything in its existing Recharge EV range, writes Brian Byrne.

What is expected to be named the EX30 will sit below the C40 and XC40 Recharge cars.

It was teased at last November's reveal of the new flagship car, the EX90, when it appeared as a flashing outline in a shot of the bigger car at the end of the event.

According to reports in the US-based Motor Authority online magazine, the car will be built in China on an EV platform owned by Volvo parent company Geely.

The company hopes it will bring more affordability to the brand, and younger customers.
