The first Kia to be built on the company's PBV platform will arrive in Ireland in November in passenger and cargo formats, writes Brian Byrne. The car is built on a modular system that allows a high degree of flexibility in providing a vehicle for specific uses.
Platform Beyond Vehicle is a concept aimed at providing a bespoke means of personal transport for every lifestyle and LCV need, using swappable modules.
The first versions to come to Ireland will be the PV5, all versions with a 71.2 kWh battery and 120kW electric motor. The Cargo version will be in two trim levels, with a starting price of €33,320. The Passenger will have just one trim level, with a retail price of €42,550. Orders can be placed now.
The PBV business will be carried out in Ireland through nine of the brand's existing dealerships.
