by Trish Whelan. The all-new Suzuki Swift, just launched here, is one of the most significant Suzuki vehicles to emerge from the company in recent years.
It is available with a 1.3- 4 cylinder engine in 3-door and 5-door models with prices at €13,995 for the GL 3-door and €14,395 for the 5-door.
The new Swift, which also form the basis of Suzuki's new Junior World Rally Championship title contender later this year in its 1.3- version, achieves 0-100 km/h in 11 seconds, has a top speed of 175 km/h, and returns a combined fuel economy of 6.2 L/100 km (45.6mpg).
Suzuki Ireland is targeting a 1% segment share this year (with 300 units allocated), growing to a 5% share in 2006 (1500 units).
