by Brian Byrne. A survey of sounds made by different prestige cars will result in changes to how a Jaguar engine sounds.
The survey, carried out with the help of a special unit at the University of Warwick in Britain, found that consumers in this car bracket preferred the louder noises made by BMWs to the relative quietness of Jaguars and Lexus.
The information will be used to 'tune' the sounds a driver hears in new Jaguars.
