by Brian Byrne. The new generation SEAT Leon will be introduced in Ireland towards the end of September, at a starting price expected to be under €20,000.
The car will come initially with a similar engines line-up to the companions Altea and Toledo, starting with a 102hp 1.6-litre petrol unit. There will also be a 150hp 2.0FSI petrol engine, and a 1.4-litre petrol is coming in February. A 185hp petrol version is also available in some markets.
The Leon's diesel options are the 105hp 1.9-litre and the 140hp 2.0-litre, already familiar from the Altea and Toledo.
There will be two specification levels, R and S, the latter adding climate control and cruise control as well as alloys over the otherwise well-specced R.
