VW considering Logan runner

by Brian Byrne. Though sedans are no longer favoured in Western Europe, their popularity in developing world markets is encouraging a number of manufacturers to build new cars in the format.

Renault's Logan, produced by its Dacia subsidiary in Rumania mainly for the Eastern European market has now been launched even in Western Europe. And Volkswagen is said to be considering a similar 'low tech' medium-sized car that would compete with the Logan.

The 3-K Project vehicle would cost VW around 3,000 to produce, making it very competitive with the Logan.

First production would be for China, according to industry sources.
