Don't fly me, drive me

by Trish Whelan. Irish Ferries has taken the line that flying is for the birds with the announcement of their new EUR139 each way long-stay fare to Britain for a car plus one adult.

In what their Sales Manager Declan Mescall calls “a competitive response to the airline sector” the new peak season €139 fare operative until end-August is applicable on Monday to Thursday sailings on their Rosslare-Pembroke route.

Other low fares are also available for weekend and Dublin-Holyhead departures.

A 5-day mid week fare from €279 for a car plus 2 adults, with a kids go free offer is also available.
