Ford ups Focus forecast

by Trish Whelan. Ford Ireland has revised upwards its full-year forecast for the country’s best-selling car, the Ford Focus, to 10,500 units.

Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) statistics show Ford’s earlier 12-month forecast for the model of 8,500 units was already surpassed last week. In May the Focus claimed a 9 percent share of the car market.

The Focus success story doesn’t stop in Ireland. Last week Ford announced that capacity at its production plant in St Petersburg was to increase by 50percent to meet demand in Russia.
