New Note from Nissan

by Brian Byrne. The new Nissan Note -- similar in size and sharing a platform with the Renault Modus -- will make its official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

It will be accompanied by the Micra C+C, a coupé/convertible, and the new sporting Micra 160SR.

The Note is a five-door hatchback aimed at parents 'who don’t want to stop having fun behind the wheel', with a wheelbase of 2600mm – longer than that of a VW Golf.

There will be four engine options: two 1.5 dCi diesels developing 68hp and 86hp) respectively, a 1.4-litre 88hp petrol unit and a new 1.6-litre 110hp petrol engine found in the new Micra 160SR and C+C.

Customer deliveries will begin in spring 2006.
