Fiat to go smaller, more powerful engines

The Fiat Stilo replacement will have a turbocharged 1.4-litre petrol engine with a number of outputs, including 150bhp at the top end.

This latter version will replace the current 2-litre petrol engine of similar output, in what is a planned downsizing of Fiat engines.

There will also be a new 1.6-litre turbodiesel in the engine range for the car, which may not be called Stilo given the poor performance of the current car.
