The fourth new model from Land Rover in just four years, the new Freelander joins the Range Rover (2002), Discovery 3 (2004) and Range Rover Sport (2005.
The new car has a similar dynamic design and stance and technical highlights include a brand-new 3.2-litre inline-six engine with 230bhp available, with 0-100 km/h in 8.9 seconds potential. The engine is matched to a new six-speed automatic transmission.
The diesel engine chosen for Freelander 2 is an all-new 2.2-litre four-cylinder with 160 hp output.
The body is a five-door monocoque structure, and Land Rover’s unique Terrain Response is standard.
The car will make its public debut at the London Motor Show next month and is expected to be on sale by the end of the year.
