Global cumulative sales of the Toyota Prius have topped the 500,000 mark.
Toyota launched the Prius, the world’s first mass-produced hybrid vehicle, in Japan in 1997 and began selling it in North America, Europe and elsewhere in 2000. Since its introduction to the Irish market in 2001, nearly 750 Prius have been sold.
Dave Shannon, Managing Director, Toyota Ireland says these latest sales figures are testament that the Toyota Prius is a real world solution for customers who want better fuel economy and low CO2 together with driving pleasure.
