Up to 40,000 units a year are forcast for Chevrolet's new Captiva SUV in Europe, most of them to be diesel-powered.
The Korean-built car launches in September with a range of petrol engines, but the 2.0-litre diesel powerplant developed by VM Motori will be available from early next year. The 150hp engine is being built in Korea.
