Volvo wins Michelin challenge

Volvo won 16 gold medals at the Michelin Challenge Bibendum 2006, a competition based on environmental and safety performance.

Competing with its new Multi-Fuel prototype car, as well as two cars with engines that run on renewable fuels, and a diesel, the brand’s performance was better than any other participating manufacturer in the passenger car class.

The seven areas evaluated in the challenge are acceleration, braking, slalom, noise, emissions, fuel efficiency and carbon dioxide emissions.
