After qualifying 17th for the sprint race the team took the unusual step of asking race officials to change their car in an effort to demonstrate that the race car which the team had used so far this season had an underlying problem. A1 management agreed and the team were given the car that John Watson uses to do his demo lap around the track on Friday.
The mechanics did a great job of setting up the car and got about two hours sleep but got it all back together and it ran faultlessly for the two races. Great credit is due to them and Richard managed to finish the sprint race in 12th place giving him a great shot at the points in the feature race. Luke Fleming.
