BMW Ireland has announced details of the new BMW M3 Coupé, powered by a 420hp 4.0 litre V8 engine.
This engine moves the car from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. However, the fuel consumption of 12.4 L/100km is an eight per cent improvement over the outgoing car.
The drivetrain uses an engine block manufactured alongside F1 engines at BMW's light-alloy foundry at Landshut, Germany, weighing just 202kgs, 15kgs less than the six-cylinder engine it replaces.
The new BMW M3 Coupé goes on sale in September 2007 and prices will be announced nearer the launch date. BB.
