And there's speculation that the Q5 will also be built in that growing market. China is already Audi's biggest market outside Germany.
The Q5 is being built on an A4 platform and will be launched in mid-summer in Europe, the US early next year, and in China before the end of 2009.
The Q5 is one of 18 new models or variants which Audi plans to add to its range by 2015, by which time it expects to have increased its global sales by 50 percent to 1.5 million annually.
