C5 is Semperit Irish Car of the Year

The 2009 Semperit Irish Car of the Year is the Citroen C5.

With a healthy 200 votes in the competition organised by the Irish Motoring Writers Association, it beat Ford’s Fiesta (158), Jaguar’s XF (156) and Mazda’s 6 (149).

The above cars were in a shortlist of 10 which included the SEAT Ibiza, Volvo XC60, Ford Kuga, VW Passat CC, Citroen Berlingo Multispace, and Renault Grand Modus.

In category wins, the Ford Fiesta is the Semperit Irish Small Car of the Year 2009, the Citroen C5 is the Family Car of the Year, Volvo’s XC60 is the SUV/Crossover winner, Citroen’s Berlingo Multispace won the MPV accolade and the Jaguar XF took the Luxury/Sport category.

The Citroen Berlingo/Peugeot Partner Van won the Semperit Irish Van of the Year 2009.
