Megane, Insignia, MiTo five-star

Renault’s latest Megane has achieved a five-star result in the Euro NCAP crash test programme.

Renault is the only carmaker to have secured the five-star top rating 11 times.

Opel's Insignia has also achieved a five-star occupant protection rating. The Insignia was also awarded four stars for child protection and two for pedestrian protection.

And, showing that pretty well every manufacturer has cracked the ENCAP code, Alfa Romeo's MiTo also got a five-star rating. It also achieved 3.35 points of out a maximum of 4in the new tests that Euro NCAP has introduced to assess the ability of the front seats to prevent whiplash.
