The unit will replace the current 2.7 diesel, and offer a power choice closer to thee 3.6 V8 diesel currently available in Range Rovers.
It will appear first in the Jaguar XF.
The engine will also be featuring in this summer in a number of Peugeot and Citroen high end cars.
The 275ps unit offers a significant boost in power over the 204ps provided by the engine it will replace, which was first launched in 2004.
