It’s the third generation of the breakthrough hybrid, and Toyota says it will provide better mileage ratings and enhanced performance. The car is also said to be quieter and roomier.
The car comes with a larger 1.8 petrol engine, which is said to improve fuel consumption on its own.
The company says the overall hybrid system is 90 percent newly-developed.
Weight saving on various components also contribute to the improved fuel consumption of the latest car.
It also has a significantly better aerodynamic factor of 0.25, claimed to be the lowest of any production car in the world.
