Driving test fees upped

The Road Safety Authority has increased driving test fees to €75 for private passenger vehicles, including cars, mopeds and motorcycles.

The fee for a driving test has remained unchanged for the past 17 years, and in 2008 was subsidised by €22m.

As of today there are 40,113 people waiting for their test and the national average waiting time is under ten weeks.

Customers can now expect to be called for their test within a few weeks of application, according to RSA boss Noel Brett.
