Foreign Affairs warning on Thailand

The Department of Foreign Affairs has advised Irish citizens living in or travelling in Thailand to 'curtail their movements as necessary and follow local advice on where to go'.

This follows the declaration of a State of Emergency and Government road blocks in Bangkok due to street protests.

The latest news is that demonstrators have been fired on by Government troops. Irish people in Bangkok and other areas have been advised to avoid public buildings and areas where protesters gather.
