Heathrow turns the screw again

If you haven't flown back from Heathrow on Aer Lingus recently, be aware of a new 'security initiative' by which the Aer Lingus gate (and lounge) is blocked off when there are offloading passengers from an incoming flight.

The idea is that incoming and outgoing passengers are no longer mixing. The process can mean a delay of up to 15 minutes when you come down the long corridor from the last bar/duty free before you can get to the actual gate.

There has to have been a better way. But then, it's LHR, and easier ways are not policy.
