Revealed in concept form at the Geneva Motor Show in March last year, the Bocanegra will be available in RHD from the summer, though probably not in Ireland until next year.
The car trumps the Ibiza Cupra and will feature an electronic limited slip differential and a seven-speed DSG gearbox with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifts.
It will sell alongside forthcoming FR and Cupra Ibiza variants as a flagship model.
The new Ibiza FR also debuted in Barcelona with supercharged and turbocharged 150PS 1.4 TSI engine.
The new-look Leon Cupra also featured on SEAT’s stand, with styling revisions and the addition of XDS –- a system offering similar benefits to a conventional limited slip differential.
The existing Cupra’s 240PS engine is carried over to the new model which will be available to order in the UK later this year.
