In a celebrity event last night Jaguar Cars officially unveiled the all-new XJ at the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea, London.
The event was hosted by Jay Leno, one of the world's best-known chat show hosts and a renowned car enthusiast.
First customers are due to receive their cars in early 2010.
A panoramic glass roof is an integral part of the all-new XJ’s design concept, enabling the car to have a lower, more streamlined roofline, while enhancing the feeling of light and space inside.
Standard- and long-wheelbase models are available from launch. The long-wheelbase offers an additional 125mm of legroom over the outgoing car.
Engines include the 3.0 V6 diesel, 5.0 naturally aspirated V8 and 5.0 supercharged V8, as well as a 470hp version of the supercharged engine. The diesel has CO2 emissions of 184g/km.
Constructed using Jaguar’s aerospace-inspired aluminium body technology, the XJ is lighter than its rivals by at least 150kg and the aluminium structure is made with with 50 percent recycled material.
