In Ireland, the new Vanette is being targeted at the Toyota Hiace, Ford's Transit Connect, and the VW Caddy Maxi. Nissan is claiming class leading volume with 4.2 cu m, and offers a 750kg payload.
At launch in January, the Vanette will have two side sliding doors, and double rear doors without windows. The Irish powertrain will be an 86hp version of the Renault/Nissan Alliance 1.5 turbodiesel.
ABS is standard, while electronic brake force distribution (EBD), electronic stability control (ESP) and brake assist (BA) will be options. In Ireland, dual front airbags will be standard.
Nissan is offering the option of a reversing camera, the first in this class.
