Car sales still down

Figures released by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) show sales for September down 34.67 percent on the same month last year. Some 2,259 new cars were registered.

Sales for the year to date are 55,136, down 63 percent on the figure to end of September last year.

Imported used car registrations for September are down by a third, but at 3,428 are more than new cars registered.

LCV registrations for September are down 35.05 percent on the same period last year, and 70.4 percent down on YTD.
