Pothole danger

Although the bad weather isn't over yet, and may not be for some weeks to come, there has already been further damage to roads and a big increase in the number of potholes.

If you have had the misfortune to hit a pothole hard, you should get your wheel checked as soon as possible, as damage may have been done of which you won't be immediately aware.

At the very least the steering alignment may have been upset, and this will lead to increased wear and fuel consumption, and more expensive damage down the line.

Your trye may also have been damaged, and be at risk of blowout.

Bottom line, don't just shrug off the incident with a muttered imprecation. Get to your wheel and tyre specialist, which may be your local car dealer, and have things checked.
