The Road Safety Authority says there has been a 'significant hardening' of attitudes towards drink and driving.
It bases the statement on a survey carried out last November in which 65 percent of respondents said drivers could drink no alcohol at all. This compared to similar surveys in 2000 when 30 percent held this view.
The RSA will re-broadcast the first ever hard hitting anti-drink driving advert entitled ‘Shame’ to mark the fact that it was first aired 10 years ago in 2000. ‘Shame’ will be re-broadcast today and on St Patrick’s Day.
