First Auris HSD rolls out

The first Toyota full hybrid car to be built in Europe rolled off the production line in Derbyshire, England, yesterday.

The Auris HSD is being built for global distribution at TMUK Burnaston, and the car is the first Toyota compact to have the hybrid technology pioneered with the Prius.

The official CO2 emissions of the car are 89g/km. It is being built in the same production line as petrol and diesel variants of the car, and the Avensis. The plant built its three millionth car earlier this month.
