The unexpected launch of the car in Times Square, NYC, showed a longer and sleeker vehicle than the current car. It also has, according to the company, a best-in-class rear legroom.
The new car is aimed at a more premium buyership than the outgoing Jetta, and US sales begin in October. The car is built at VW's plant in Mexico.
