The car retains the key styling cues of the current one, but is both lighter and stronger than it. The handling has been improved by the use of a wider track and bigger wheels than on the model that was launched five years ago.
The car is both longer and has a longer wheelbase than the outgoing version.
A new 1.2 petrol engine replaces the current 1.3, with dual VVT valve management technology, offering more power and torque and an improved fuel economy.
The 17 percent improvement in CO2 emissions will make it A-rated car in Ireland. A 1.3 diesel is also planned which also shows significantly less emissions than the current oilburner.
