Budapest is one of those city break locations that's well within reach of Ireland, and it is a city which has the same kind of attitude to fun as the Irish have. Not surprising, given the Celtic in the country's heritage.
If you're going, here's a tip for eating out. Rather than use one of the more expensive street restaurants down around Vaci Street, head up to Raday Street about 20 mins walk away.
With more than 40 restaurants and pubs of every kind in the street, prices are much more competitive than downtown. A beer, for instance, is generally half the cost of what you pay in Vaci Street and environs. BB
