The turbocharged petrol engine trend continues to grow with today's announcement by Volvo of two 1.6 units, offering 150hp and 180hp respectively.
Both are gasoline direct injection engines, designated T3 and T4, and will be available initially on the new S60 and V60 mid-sized Volvos in some markets.
Both will include the package of DRIVe fuel saving technologies. They are described as being Euro 5 compliant in emissions terms but no specific CO2 figures have yet been released.
