Mitsubishi Motors Ireland have announced the price for their Electric Vehicle i-MiEV to be delivered to customers in Ireland from 1 January 2011.
The retail price will be €28,995, which includes the €5,000 Government grant, and the battery.
Fifteen of the cars are already on Irish roads in support of the nationwide rollout of the public charging infrastructure.
The car's low running costs are a key advantage over traditional petrol and diesel cars. Ownership benefits include: €155 to charge for one year, a 10-year battery warranty, low service and maintenance costs (only 4 working parts compared to over 300 in a typical internal combusion engine), lowest road tax bracket, Zero emissions, free home charging point installation for the first 2,000 electric car owners.
Mitsubishi say the car is perfect for urban driving.
