Lexus will be launching a new entry level model in Ireland in November, which will be the first full hybrid in the compact premium segment.
The CT200h will have rated emissions of 89g/km and will be launched at the Paris Motor Show.
The car is built on a brand new platform, the power is from a 1.8 petrol engine with an electric motor in the brand's Hybrid Synergy Drive system.
The fuel consumption is estimated to be 3.8l/100km (74.3 mpg) in combined cycle driving. It will also drive with zero emissions for up to 2kms where conditions suit. Total power output from the 5-door hatch is 136hp.
No Irish prices have yet been revealed, but in France it is planned to cost under €30,000.
