Volvo has whittled a further 5gm/km in DRIVe versions of its S40 and V50, bringing the cars' emissions down to 99gm/km.
The cars come with an upgraded 1.6 diesel engine, a 6-speed manual gearbox and start-stop function.
The C30 has a similar emissions performance. There are currently another two models with CO2 emissions below 120g/km: the Volvo V70 (119g) and Volvo S80 (119g). In early 2011, these will be joined by DRIVe derivatives of the new S60 and V60 models.
