There are seven vans in contention for the Continental Irish Van of the Year 2011 award, organised by the Irish Motoring Writers Association (IMWA) Van of the Year Jury.
They are the Mercedes Benz Vito, Nissan NV200, Opel Movano, Renault Master, Volkswagen Caddy, and Volkswagen Transporter.
The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony in the Convention Centre Dublin, Spencer Dock, on Thursday November 25, 2010.
The Continental Irish Van of the Year jury is comprised of nine specialist members of the IMWA. They grade each vehicle on such attributes as value for money, versatility, build quality and performance.
Paddy Murphy of Continental Tyres, sponsor of the award, says that 'when every cent counts' in the current economic climate, the choice of the IMWA van jury is a great help to van customers looking for guidance.
Chairman of the IMWA Van Jury Gerry Murphy says this year’s field of runners are a 'quality line up of vehicles' showing that the manufacturers have confidence in the expected improvement in the Europe-wide economy.
Last year’s Continental Irish Van of the Year title was awarded to the Ford Transit Connect.
