The lack of a diesel engine will likely mean that Suzuki's first mid-sized car won't be a major challenger in key European markets of Germany, France and the UK when it debuts this month.
The Kizashi is aimed at the market dominated by Ford's Mondeo and VW's Passat, but will only be available with a 2.4 petrol engine.
The car is currently aimed at the Japanese and US markets, and also Russia, where the use of diesel engines is not neccessary for market success.
