A new joint venture company of Fiat and Chrysler would produce large vehicles for Alfa Romeo and Jeep brands.
The cars and SUVs would be built on a derivative of the 'Compact' architecture which carries the new Giulietta, to be named 'Compact Wide'.
More than €1 billion will be invested in the programme, equally split between the two companies.
