Fiat won't replace its Bravo compact hatch with a similar car when the current model ends, writes Brian Byrne.
Instead, a crossover-type car similar to the Nissan Qashqai is to be developed by the Italian carmaker.
The Bravo isn't doing well for Fiat, and doesn't figure in the top ten list of compact hatches sold in Europe last year.
The list is headed by the Volkswagen Golf, with Kia's cee'd in at the number ten slot.
The fastest growing model is Hyundai's i30, in at number eight and showing a 16 percent-plus growth over 2009.
