Ireland ranks 24th in Europe's most congested cities for 2011
Dublin city has seen a reduction in its traffic by a staggering 9.7 per cent since 2010 which Belfast has seen traffic reduce by just 2 per cent. Ireland now ranks 24th in Europe's most congested cities list.
The results of the latest traffic study from TomTom reveal some of the most congested hotspots in Europe. Brussels tops the chart as the most congested European city and congestion in the Belgian capital is getting worse, showing a 1.2 per cent increase in traffic since 2010.
London climbs up the rankings to take third place while Edinburgh and Manchester both feature in the top ten.
The German city of Cologne sits at the bottom of the top 50; only 18.9 per cent of its roads are congested. But Germany still features six times in the overall list.
You'll have the most stress-free trip in Spain, Switzerland, Norway, Hungary, Ireland or the Czech Republic each of which has only one city in the top 50.
The worst ten cities are Brussels, Warsaw, London, Wroclaw, Toulouse, Lyon, Edinburgh, Marseille and Paris.
