Volkswagen introduce a Service Promise

All 47 Volkswagen dealerships in Ireland have signed up to a new aftersales strategy, The Volkswagen Service Promise, to deliver a superior service quality and enhance value for money for every Volkswagen owner, writes Trish Whelan.

By 2018 their strategy is to be the best brand in the world for aftersales service.

Alan Bateson, After Sales Manager for the VW brand in Ireland, said "We want to be customer-first and the first choice for our customers, to be simple and easy to deal with, less complex, offering a great service and value for money."

VW recently completed in-depth customer research to enable them to better understand what the customer requires when they service or repair their vehicle. There are now around 210,000 Volkswagen owners in this country.

The 10 promises outline to customers what they can expect when they visit their authorised VW Service Centre and how they set themselves apart from the competition. Key promises include providing the first 15 minute diagnosis free-of-charge, the price match on service and repairs when using VW original parts, free fitting on bulbs and wipers, and a free wash and vacuum after your service or repair.

VW can now also offer a free service clinic before a NCT test. "We now offer a 2-year warranty on all parts and we will explain all charges to customers. We make the cars so we should stand behind them."
