Renault details EV programme for Ireland

Buyers of Renault electric vehicles in Ireland will buy their vehicle from the dealer in the normal way, and will lease the batteries through Renault Finance at a monthly cost of €72+VAT, writes Brian Byrne.

Details of the EV rollout were given today at a special workshop event in Carton House, Maynooth.

The first vehicles will be three variants of the Kangoo Van, slated for launch in November. Next year will see the Fluence ZE family saloon, the Twizy 2-seat urban car, and the Zoe family hatch.

The Kangoo ZE range coming this year will include a 5-passenger Maxi variant.

The Kangoo range pricing begins at €16,200 including the State Grant for zero-emissions vehicles.

The Fluence ZE is expected to be available from March.

Renault has been running a series of ZE workshops over the last week, for those who have registered expressions of interest.

The Twizy will be test-marketed at first in Dublin and Cork.

The Zoe will be sized similarly to the Clio.
