Accord Type S goes on sale

Honda Ireland has introduced a 180hp version of the current Accord model, designated the Type S.

The engine is the familiar 2.2 diesel, uprated to provide the extra 30hp over the standard version.

Exterior details reflecting the higher power include 18” alloy wheels and aero bumpers and side sills. The car also comes with a high beam support system with Bi Xenon head lights and active cornering lights.

Standard features include leather upholstery and electrically adjustable heated front seats; and dual zone climate control linked to the satellite navigation system to detect the position of the sun and setting the temperature accordingly.

The Type S retails at €39,465 and will help the importers to achieve 450 Accord sales in 2012.

Fuel consumption is 5.6l/100km and CO2 emissions are 147g/km, putting the powerful car in the C segment for Irish tax rating.
