Opel Insignia diesels: fuel consumption cut by 12%

Opel Insignia diesel engines have cut fuel consumption by 12 per cent.

Diesel engines have contributed significantly to the European success story of the Opel Insignia. Now a team of the brand's engineers has improved the current diesel engines in preparation for 2012,cutting consumption and emissions but without affecting power output.

The duo of 2.0 Insignia engines are now equipped with Start/Stop technology. Fuel consumption has been reduced by 0.6 L.100kms. The 160hp variant of the 2.0 CDTI ecoFLEX consumes just 4.3 L/100km while emitting only 115g/km of C02 placing it in Band A for annual road tax of €104.

The new 1.4i 140ps ecoFLEX turbo petrol engine, with Start/Stop, delivers 140hp and replaces the 1.8 aspirated version. This version is in Tax Band B of €156.

Noise and vibration have also been reduced.
