Hyundai will launch its new i40 saloon in early December at a starting price of €24,995, writes Trish Whelan.
This follows the launch of its i40 Tourer in mid August.
The saloon will have the same 1.7D engine as in the Tourer version which was launched mid August, we were told at a special reveal of the saloon by Hyundai to members of the motoring press today. The car will be now be launched to the brand's dealer network on Wednesday.
Customers will have a choice of Comfort, Executive, or Executive Auto versions.
The entry level Comfort model has, as standard, ESP, ABS, nine airbags, Hill start assist, vehicle stability management, brake assist system, air conditioning, Bluetooth, iPod, iPad connections, and an electric parking brake.
The i40 is expected to follow all other Hyundai cars in achieving a maximum five stars from Euro NCAP for safety.
All Hyundai cars come with the brand's 5-Year Triple Care Package which includes Five Year unlimited mileage Warranty, Five years' roadside assistance, and Five Years of health checks which Stephen Gleeson said is a massive investment by the brand.
