Vauxhall (Opel) will show new Mokka at Geneva

This is the first official picture of Vauxhall's (Opel's) new small SUV which will take the company into new market territory when it is unveiled at this year's Geneva Motor Show in March.

Called the Mokka, the new model will enter the sub-compact SUV B-segment.

The muscular vehicle is 4.28 metres long, and can accommodate five adults in comfort.

It will be available in Front-Wheel and All-Wheel Drive. Power is provided by three engines, all equipped with fuel saving Start/Stop technology. The petrol is a 115PS, 1.6 naturally-aspirated engine, or a 140PS 1.4 turbo. Both the 1.4 turbo and 1.7 CDTI can be combined either with six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmissions.

The Mokka will have cutting edge technologies, and a generous cargo area. Up to 1,372 litres of load space is available and up to 19 storage locations.

Standard features across all models include Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, as well as Hill Start Assist, and Hill Descent Control.

We don't yet know about plans for the Mokka in Ireland, but it will go on sale at Vauxhall dealerships in the UK towards the end of this year.
