BMW is recalling 1.3 million 5 and 6 Series cars worldwide to attend to a possible battery cable problem, writes Brian Byrne.
The recall affects cars built between 2003-2010 and involves the battery cable cover in the boot, which the company says can in 'some remote cases' be incorrectly mounted.
Consequent malfunctioning can lead to start failures, charring or fire. There are no known cases of accidents or injuries related to the problem.
